Article 7 - Rights of citizenship of certain migrants to Pakistan 

 

Article 7 provides for the citizenship rights of certain individuals who have migrated from India to Pakistan after March 1, 1947.

 

These individuals will not be considered citizens of India.

 

Exception: An individual who has returned to India under a permit for resettlement or permanent return issued by a law, will be considered as migrated to India after July 19, 1948 and will be eligible for citizenship under clause (b) of Article 6.
