The deal would value OpenAI at $29 billion and reportedly includes other venture firms. Reports indicate that documents were sent to prospective investors in recent weeks.
Neither Microsoft or OpenAI have publicly commented on the reported investment.
OpenAI was founded by Tesla CEO, Elon Musk and investor, Sam Altman and had made the ChatGPT chatbot publicly available for testing in November 30.
