Decentralization of power in India has had a significant impact on governance at the grassroots level.
One key aspect of decentralization in India has been the transfer of authority and responsibility for planning and delivery of certain public services from the central and state governments to local governments, such as panchayats (village councils) and urban local bodies. This has allowed local communities to have a greater say in decision-making processes that affect their daily lives and has increased accountability of local governments to their constituents.

The decentralization of power has also led to the creation of new institutions and mechanisms for participatory governance, such as gram sabhas (village assemblies) and ward committees, which allow for greater citizen involvement in the planning and implementation of local development projects.
Overall, decentralization of power in India has had a positive impact on governance at the grassroots level by empowering local communities and increasing their participation in the decision-making processes that affect them.
